Talent of the Year and other awards.

 

Niklas Walentin has earlier received The Sonning Talent Prize in 2008 and The Jacob Gade Talent Prize for young musicians, also in 2008.

In 2013, Niklas Walentin received the Danish Radio P2 Talent Award. He performed in gratitude for this award by playing live-transmitted in television and radio: E. Ysaÿe Sonata for Solo Violin no. 3, and J.S. Bachs Double Concerto for two violins together with the violinist Nikolaj Znaider and The National Danish Radio Orchestra.

In 2013 Niklas Walentin received The Great Prize from Jacob Gades Foundation, and was once more awarded The Sonning Talent Prize in 2014. In 2015 Niklas Walentin received the Island of Møn Prize, and was later in the year awarded the Danish Critics Award. He performed in 2016, with gratitude to the Danish Critics Award, Edward Elgar's violinconcerto with Copenhagen Phil in the Copenhagen Concert Hall Tivoli. In 2017 Niklas Walentin was award the Carl Nielsen and Anne-Marie Brodersens Award, and later in the year, he was the first to receive the Nikolaj Znaider Travel Stipendium.

Niklas Walentin has twice been awarded "The Young Elite Award" from the Danish Art Coucil. First in May 2013 when the prestigeous scholarship was given to Niklas Walentin, as a soloist and again in 2016, the award was given to his piano trio, Trio Vitruvi. This is a very sought-after appreciation among young musicians and highly estimated.

 

 

Special donations and performances.

 

The highly estimed Queen Margrethe and Prince Henrik Foundation has given Niklas Walentin donations. In gratitude, he has performed for the Queen and Prince on several occasions. Niklas Walentin has been supported from the Oticon Foundation, Mærsk Foundation, Augustinus Fondation. The Léonie Sonnings Fondation and Jacob

Gade Foundation, Anker Buchs Award, Odd Fellow Loge 78, Solistforeningen af 1921, Margrethe Axelsens Foundation, Møn Prize, Jacob Gade Foundation and is sponsored by Jargar Strings.

 

 

Winner of numerous competitions.

 

Niklas Walentin has participated in many 

competitions, among these 1st Prize in Jacob Gade Competition for young violinists, the Gold medale in Berlingske Tidendes Classical Music Competition 2007, including awarded talent prize, and First Prize Øresunds Soloist competition 2007.

In 2012 Niklas Walentin was triple winner in The 9th Carl Nielsen International Violin Competition winning the Second Prize in the competition, The Carl Nielsen Prize for best performance of Carl Nielsen's works, and the Prize for best performance of a contempory work by Ib Nørholm’s Ménage à Trois, which was composed specially for this competition. In 2012 he was also the first prize winner of the Copenhagen Summer Festival's Talent Prize 2012. In 2013 he won the "Soloist of the year 2013"-competition at the Royal Danish Academy of Music, which led to a concert in Tivoli performing Tchaikovsky’s violin concerto.
